Vote June 1
I can't believe June is just right around the corner. Life is flying by.

I encourage you to strongly consider Lance Abbott for District Attorney on June 1st in the Republican Primary.
Lance Abbott strongly advocates for bringing a pre-trial diversion program to Lee County for first-time offenders. This program diverts minor drug offenses away from the more serious violent crimes and provides rehabilitative efforts for defendants with drug abuse problems rather than continuing to overcrowd the prisons. Statistics show that since 1973 the inmate population of the Department of Corrections has increased more than 300 percent in Alabama as a result of drug offenses. The continuous overcrowding of the prison system has a direct impact on sentencing guidelines. District Attorneys must stand for “truth in sentencing” ensuring that a violent criminal offender is not paroled early because the Department of Corrections had to make room for minor drug offenders. Pretrial diversion programs are currently operating successfully in all of the surrounding border counties such as: Tallapoosa, Chambers, Randolph , and Macon . These individuals need a second chance at life and the opportunity of rehabilitation.
Finally, the program is paid for by the defendant, not by tax-payers.

Words of a 3 year old boy
My conversation with Tuck Sunday morning
T: Where are we going Mommy?
Me: You know where we are going silly, we are going to church.
T: Where we were going after that?
Me: Home James.(I wanted to tease him because he thought I was going to say out to eat because we always go out to each with our Sunday School class after Sunday School.)
T: Okay Thomas.
He put the joke on me. LOL, out of the mouth of babes.
I hope you have heard of the old saying Home James (what I was referring to) but if you aren't familiar with Thomas the Train (one of T's favorites) the main character is Thomas and another engine is James so T thought I was pretending that we were Thomas characters.

House fires - please read !!!!!
I don't have any of these but I received this in an e-mail and wanted to pass it along....
This is one of those e-mails that if you don't send it, rest assured someone on your list will suffer for not reading it. The original message was written by a lady whose brother and wife learned a hard lesson recently.
Their house burned down... nothing left but ashes. They have good insurance so the house will be replaced and most of the contents. That is the good news.
However, they were sick when they found out the cause of the fire. The insurance investigator sifted through the ashes for several hours. He had the cause of the fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her sister-in-law what she had plugged in the bathroom. She listed the normal things...curling iron, blow dryer.
He kept saying to her, 'No, this would be something that would disintegrate at high temperatures'. Then her sister-in-law remembered she had a Glade Plug-In, in the bathroom.
The investigator had one of those 'Aha' moments. He said that was the cause of the fire. He said he has seen more house fires started with the plug-in type room fresheners than anything else. He said the plastic they are made from isTHIN. He also said that in every case there was nothing left to prove that it even existed. When the investigator looked in the wall plug, the two prongs left from the plug-in were still in there.
Her sister-in-law had one of the plug-ins that had a small night light built in it. She said she had noticed that the light would dim and then finally go out. She would walk in to the bathroom a few hours later, and the light would be back on again. The investigator said that the unit was getting too hot, and would dim and go out rather than just blow the light bulb. Once it cooled down it would come back on..... That is a warning sign
The investigator said he personally wouldn't have any type of plug in fragrance device anywhere in his house. He has seen too many places that have been burned down due to them.

Funny E-mail
I thought this e-mail was rather humorous...
Obama bumper sticker
We were in slow-moving traffic the other day and the car in front of us had an Obama bumper sticker on it.
It read: "Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8".
My husband's Bible was lying the dash board so he got it, opened it up to the scripture and read it.
He started laughing and laughing. Then he read it to me. I couldn't believe what it said. I had a good laugh, too.
Psalm 109:8 "Let his days be few; and let another take his office"
NIV says, "May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership."
At last - I can voice a Biblical prayer for our president! Look it up - it is word for word!
Let us all bow our heads and pray.

Cabin Getaway
In February, (yes I know I'm not good at putting our lives in chronological order) we had a fun little cabin get away with some couples in our Sunday School Class. We headed to Blue Ridge, Georgia for a little R&R. The ladies enjoyed reading magazines, watching tv, hanging out and napping. The guys played on the wii, played pool and hung out. I hope everyone had as much fun as Chance and I did hanging with each other and with friends.
